Overview

Acutely ill adults and pediatric patients are arriving at the emergency room in greater numbers then ever before. This symposium is designed to help radiologists and emergency radiologists maintain optimal competence in the utilization of the most reliable imaging modalities and best-practice strategies, even for unusual conditions. This course will be of special interest to physicians in the fields of radiology, emergency radiology and emergency medicine.


Objectives
  1. To become familiar with the acute CT and MRI findings on patients with acute stroke, and non traumatic spine and ENT injuries
  2. To recognize Emergency complications in Oncology treatments
  3. To be able to better utilize MRI for Abdominal Emergencies
  4. To be able to recognize the most common presentations to the ED by pediatric patients
  5. To diagnose Child Abuse
  6. To avoid pitfalls and errors in Body CT
  7. To better use CT to evaluate the acute abdomen
  8. To learn how to use CTA in a patient with Abdominal bleeding
  9. How to use Ultrasound or the pelvis in Gyne and OB patients
  10. How to diagnose vascular Emergencies with Doppler Ultrasound
  11. To better evaluate Pulmonary Embolism and Aortic Syndromes
  12. To get a basic understanding of Cardiac CTA indications and protocols
