Overview

The NNP Certification Prep Course is a concentrated study program designed to assist nursing professionals preparing for the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) Certification Exam. In addition to identifying the preferred response, a "neonatal nugget" or "perinatal pearl" of information with reference is supplied for each self-assessment and test question. This exercise should provide insight regarding areas of strength and areas to expand the participant’s knowledge base, allowing for better direction in his/her study and supplemental readings before proceeding to the national certification exam.

This activity includes a 50-question self-assessment which provides immediate and referenced feedback, a supplemental reading/reference list, and a 125-question exam.

ANCC Learning Outcomes

  2. Resuscitation and Stabilization: Describe physiology of transition to extrauterine life, delivery room assessment, techniques of resuscitation, physiologic basis for interventions, cord blood interpretation and issues related to neonatal transport.
  3. Nutrition: Identify principles related to physiology of digestion and absorption, nutritional requirements, enteral feeding, parenteral nutrition, composition of breast milk and formulas and dietary supplementation.
