Overview
The Early Onset Sepsis (EOS) Calculator is a tool to calculate the probability of neonatal early-onset sepsis based on maternal risk factors and the Infant's clinical presentation. Intended for the use of clinicians trained and experienced in the care of newborn infants, this tool calculates the risk of early-onset sepsis in an infant born > 34 weeks gestation and produces the probability of early onset sepsis per 1000 babies. This presentation will address the evidence behind use of the EOS calculator and the importance of appropriate use of antibiotics on clinical outcomes.

ANCC Learning Outcomes
  1. Identify appropriate patients in which to utilize the Early Onset Sepsis (EOS) calculator.
  2. Identify the necessary data points for input into the EOS calculator.
  3. Describe risk factors associated with early onset sepsis.

Registration
NOTE: Registration is only open to Huntsville Mednax practice-affiliated hospitals.
