Overview

The S.T.A.B.L.E. Program is necessary to prepare caregivers to anticipate potential problems with the newborn and provide standardized care for the sick newborn. The program (a) addresses post resuscitation/pre-transport stabilization period in the delivery room, nursery, maternal child area & NICU setting; (b) prepares the caregiver in identifying risk factors for hypothermia, hypoglycemia, respiratory distress, blood loss and impact on BP; and (c) improves assessment skills and focuses on evidence based guidelines for stabilization. The course provides pathophysiology background and interventions necessary to stabilize infants.
